The colors are meant to look like vivid, high contrast inks that have faded over time. The red represents blood and danger, and is used to show interactable or emphasized elements. The purple represents darkness and mystery, and is paired with the beige, which represents old paper or rotting teeth.
Daubenton, the title font, was designed to be reminiscent of old European gravestones or engravings on buildings. It is contrasted with the body font, Erode, which is a modern serif chosen for its readability. The header font, Satoshi, bridges the modern body copy with the ancient title font.
